Projects Governors' Global Climate Summit - Finding Solutions Through Regional & Global Action, November 18-19, 2008 On September 26, 2008, Governor Schwarzenegger announced that he, along with Governors across the United States and officials from around the world, would come together in an effort to create a framework for United Nations' negotiators to use when they meet in Poland this December to being work on a new global climate change agreement. This Global Climate Summit will bring key world leaders to the drawing board to discuss new and creative ideas to combat climate change and create an alliance of states provinces and regional governments to implement those solutions. The new global agreement emerging form the U.N. talks, culminating with a meeting to be held in Copenhagen in December, 2009, will be stronger and more sustainable due to the work of the dedicated leaders participating in the Governors' Global Climate Summit. November's Global Climate Summit in Los Angeles will be a catalyst to a new, improved global policy to combat climate change and build stronger economies based on clean, renewable sources of energy.
